Alvin And The Chipmunks

I was recently in line at the movie theatre.  A young mother with two young children and a toddler were getting tickets for Alvin and the Chipmunks.  The smallest wandered off, so mom had to leave the line which was about 10 people deep.  She had her hands full chasing the kids around.  I asked the two smaller kids what movie they were going to see.  I ordered her tickets, paid for them, and handed them to her as soon as she came back from her search and recovery mission.

She was shocked that someone would do something like that for her.  I got a big bear hug, and I'm sure the people behind us could hear her rave about how grateful she was.

These opportunities present themselves at very unexpected times.  Sometimes I see them on back to back days.   Sometimes I don't see one for several months.

When I take advantage of these moments, it always reminds me how closely connected to each other we really are.
